Saturday night's Lotto draw handed out one very life-changing prize, and right now nobody knows who's holding it. Somewhere in Ireland, a single ticket is sitting on a windowsill or stuffed in a coat pocket worth a staggering €8,221,849, making its holder the fourth Lotto jackpot winner of 2026.

The winning numbers drawn on Saturday, 25th July were 23, 24, 25, 42, 43, 46, with the bonus number coming in at 37. The National Lottery has confirmed the winning retail location will be revealed in the coming days, so if you picked up a ticket anywhere in the country over the weekend, now's the time to dig it out from under the takeaway menus and check it properly.

According to a report from the Irish Mirror, the shop where the jackpot ticket was sold has yet to be traced, which means there's a whole county out there quietly wondering if it's them.

National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O'Dwyer summed up the mood nicely, saying someone in Ireland is now "holding a ticket worth an incredible €8,221,849." He's urging anyone who bought a ticket for Saturday's draw to check it carefully, because right now that winner has absolutely no idea they've hit the big one.

The jackpot wasn't the only good news on the night. Three players matched five numbers plus the bonus to each land €89,430 in the Match 5 + Bonus tier. The first winning Quick Pick ticket was bought in Co. Clare, from Londis on Bank Place in Miltown Malbay, on the day of the draw itself. The second was sold at Lynch's Centra in Clonbur, Claremorris, Co. Mayo — good timing for a county with plenty on its plate this summer between the Lotto win and its All-Ireland ambitions. The third winner didn't need to leave the house at all, having bought their ticket online from Co. Dublin.

Players in Clare and Mayo are being told to check their tickets carefully, while the Dublin winner should already have an email notification waiting in their National Lottery account. All three prize winners, along with whoever is sitting on that jackpot ticket, are advised to sign the back of their ticket, keep it somewhere safe, and get in touch with the National Lottery's prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie to arrange collection at Lottery Headquarters.

If you're not sure how to go about checking your own numbers without spiralling into a panic, there's a handy guide on checking your lottery numbers worth a read. And as always, only play what you can comfortably afford to lose — the fun is in the maybe, not the money you don't have spare.

Nearly 30 cent of every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes across sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish language. Since the National Lottery began 39 years ago, that's added up to €7 billion raised, including €239.3 million in 2024 alone.
